Participated At Historic Hajj Hackathon, Saudi Arabia In 2018

Hajj Hackathon was organized at Jeddah International Exhibition & Convention Center, Jeddah 23532, Saudi Arabia between 31st July 2018 to 3rd August 2018, I participated in the hackathon individually and successfully able to form the team their at the venue.

Hajj Hackathon was organized by The Saudi Federation for Cyber Security and Programming (SAFCSP) for developing Digital AND Tech-base innovations to enhance the Hajj experience for millions of pilgrims every year. This event got the entry into Guinness Book of World Records for thousands of software developers as well as computer and information-technology enthusiasts from more than 100 countries have taken part in a huge hackathon in Saudi Arabia.

We presented our idea with the title Awn which connects all pilgrims with the network of volunteers deployed in their vicinity. It provides a simple one-click solution to any issues the pilgrims might be facing as well as empowering all pilgrims to be facilitators in raising alerts regarding running problems and alarms for emergent situations. We created an android app which qualified for the second round of judgement but couldn’t made to finals. However attending the first hackathon as a participant it was a great experience.
